Oilcan's Historic Moment #1

Historic Moment # 1 for this new Blog will be not about history of the Alaska Highway, but rather my connection with it.  In fact is was 56 years ago this week that Marl & Mavis Brown moved up to the Alaska Highway, bringing their worldly possessions and a 9 month old son (that was me) where father went to work as a civilian mechanic at the Canadian Army's highway maintenance camp at Mile 245.  (That was 55 miles south of Fort Nelson - Mile 300.)
We celebrated dear ol' dad's 81st birthday this week
